Do you like regular french toast? Do you also like cream cheese and jelly?
If so, then you might just love this:

The idea of 'stuffing' french toast came from the cooking elective I took in high school. Typically I use left over french loaves but today I didn't have any so I used regular bread with the crusts cut off, and I think I like it like this even more then the original way I made it.
To make a single serving:
- Cut the crusts off two pieces of bread. Spread cream cheese on one slice and the jelly of your choice on the other. Sandwich the bread and cut it in half.
- In a small bowl, beat together one egg, about 1/4 milk, 2 tsp vanilla extract, and a few dashes of white sugar.
- Heat your frying pan on medium heat and melt some butter to grease the pan.
- Dip your sandwiches into the mixture, covering both sides and edges. Fry until golden brown on both sides (I stand them on their sides to brown the edges as well).
- Serves hot with maple syrup and icing sugar.
I like my food sweet but if you don't have an insatiable sweet tooth like me then you can omit all the white sugar, syrup, and icing sugar from this recipe. I just don't understand why you would want to.
