Last year I thought I'd be a fun project to make a loom to weave a rug for my room but didn't try to pursue this idea until the end of May. I started out small with using basic frame loom to see if I could get the hang of it before tackling a larger project. It turned out to be pretty simple so using an old empty frame, part of a curtain rod and an old toy sword, I started my first weaving project.

It took about 3 hours before I completed this trial piece, which I ended up making into a kind of a pennant. I might add some embroidery or paint something on it (or it could end up in my pile of 'first try' projects). It's a time consuming craft but simple enough that you can watch a movie while doing it to help pass the time faster.
So this was my trial run but now I've gotten around to prepping for the next weaving project I thought of while doing this one. Hopefully I will have something to show from that one soon, depending on how long it takes me to finish.
